Dinty Moore Beef Stew

Mr. Man has picked a great gluten free product to review today. Dinty Moore Beef Stew (made by Hormel) has been a staple in my house for as long as I can remember. I love soups and stews and always stock my pantry with a few cans for my lazy nights. In the gluten eating days I had two favorites, but one of them didn’t survive the gluten free purge. I can’t even tell you how excited I was when I saw that Dinty Moore Beef Stew had gone gluten free before I did! Even better, it is labeled gluten free right on the can! In fact, on a perusal of their website, I found that this scrumptious meal contains none of the major allergens. You can find this beef stew in the soup isle of just about any grocery store. Read on to find out why you should.

Ease of Use

Dinty Moore Beef Stew is all about heat and serve. This can be done on the stove or in the microwave and only takes a few minutes.

An added bonus for me (since lately I am can opener challenged) is that the cans are the pop-top kind. They can be opened by anyone anywhere.

Appearance

This stew has a thick rich base filled with large chunks of beef, potato and carrots.

Taste & Texture

Yummers! The beef is lean and tender, the potatoes and carrots are perfectly cooked. The beef gravy is rich and flavorful. The overall effect of the stew is tasty, warm and comforting.

Versatility

Really, no matter how you fix it, this will always be stew. I have served it a number of tasty ways, though. Heat it up with some frozen peas in it for a fresh flavor and some extra nutrition. I’ve used it as a pot pie filling, served it over rice or in a bread bowl. It tastes great any way you serve it.

Overall Value

I love the fact that you can buy Dinty Moore Beef Stew everywhere! Seriously, they even carry it in most gas stations. The price varies depending on what size you buy and where you buy it, but you can almost always get a filling amount for under three bucks.

Rating

D.D. and I both love Dinty Moore Beef Stew and eat it on a regular basis.
