Time again for a goody out of the Katz Gluten Free box! I’m not sure what I can say in introduction for this one besides chocolate and cupcake- yeah, D.D. was stoked :)
Ease of Use
Take it out of the box, remove the paper liner and eat. Nom nom nom.
Appearance
Each one is a perfect representation of what a chocolate cupcake should look like.
Taste and Texture
The flavor of Katz Gluten Free Chocolate Cupcakes is nice and rich. They are a dark chocolate flavor that has some depth. The problem comes with the texture. They are a bit dry. The majority of the cupcake has the dense texture that I love in gluten free cake, but that perfect pointed top is almost crunchy. They are unfrosted, so maybe adding some frosting at home would soften them up a bit.
Versatility
Though it was not a thrilling texture to bite into plain, the mixed texture of the cupcake was perfect for a sundae. I cut them in half, put some frozen yogurt on top and added hot fudge. Soooo good!
Overall Value
This package of gluten free cupcakes retails for $5.49 for six cupcakes. Add tax and you’re paying around a dollar per cupcake. I can’t say that this ranks too high on the value scale.
Rating
The texture in a sundae was so perfect that there is no way I could withhold a recommendation here.
